Singer Theo lists stints with the Temptations (For Lovers Only) and the Four Tops on his resumé. For his solo effort, Listen 2 Your Heart (also issued as Down Time), the Atlanta-based vocalist sticks to his soul music roots, which are akin to Bobby Womack and K-Ci & JoJo. Admirably, most of the lyrics are of the faithful-to-one-woman ilk. The best of these are "Girl if You Want It," "Mind Body and Soul," "Down Time," and "Ooh, Yes I Do." The album's best cut is the dusky stepper title track, which was produced by Dean Gant and Keni Burke and received radio play in several markets.
Other highlights are the smooth instrumental "Mood Swing" and the gospel-ish "My Father Knows."
